Helen Fanders

Helen May (Holzenberg) Fanders, 89, of Beatrice, died on Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Beatrice Manor Care Center, Beatrice.  She was born on March 6, 1921, at rural Beatrice to John and Claudine (Jacobson) Holzenberg.  She was a 1938 graduate of Beatrice High School. 

She is survived by daughter, Marcia Philippi of Beatrice, NE; sons, Joel Fanders and wife, Gail, of Lincoln, NE, Mark Fanders and wife, Mary of Newberg, Oregon; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Claudine Holzenberg; husband, Marcus William Fanders (5/27/2009); 3 sisters; 5 brothers; son-in-law, Robert Philippi. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, 623 Elk Street, Beatrice, with Pastor Timothy Wagner officiating.  There will be a family prayer service at 9:45 A.M.  A memorial has been established to Family's Choice with the mortuary in charge.  Burial will be in the Hope Cemetery at Harbine, NE.  Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Thursday (6/10/2010) from Noon until 9:00 P.M.; Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.  A guestbook is available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for signatures and messages of condolence.  Harman-Wright Mortuary (Beatrice) in charge of arrangements.
