Twila Jean (Mewes) Collins

 Twila J. Collins, 75, of Plymouth died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Beatrice Health & Rehabilitation Center.  She was born September 18, 1938 at Fairbury, NE.  She graduated from Fairbury High School.  Twila married Darrell Collins on November 9, 1958 at Grand Island, NE, they moved to Plymouth in 1973.  She worked at FormFit and the Beatrice Manor.  She was a past member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth and a current member of Christ Lutheran Church, Beatrice.  She enjoyed making braille books and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Twila is survived by her daughter, Pam Davis and husband Brad of Sutherland, NE; sons, Ronnie Collins and wife Patty of Plymouth, NE, Dennis Collins and wife Tammy of Beatrice, NE, Craig Collins and wife Brenda of Jerome, ID, Terry Collins  of Plymouth, NE; 8 grandchildren; 5 step- grandchildren; 6 great step-grandchildren, 1 step great-great-grandchild; brothers, Glenn Mewes and wife, Connie of Beatrice, NE, Alvin Mewes and wife, Peggy of Montrose, CO, Harold Mewes and wife, Linda of Meridian, ID; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell; parents, George and Hazel (Mumby) Mewes; sisters, Arlene Mae Mewes, Roberta Jaycox and Eileen Lewis.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plymouth, NE with Pastor Joshua Hillmann, officiating.  A Family prayer service will be held at 10:15 at the church.  Burial will be in the St. Paul‘s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Plymouth, NE.  Visitation is at the Harman-Wright Mortuary, PLYMOUTH, Friday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  A register book is also available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for messages of condolence.  A memorial is established to the Family’s Choice.  Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
