Bonnie “Brandy” Ruth (Brown) Kelly went to be with her Savior on December 18, 2017 at her home in Beatrice. She was born in Arcadia to parents Ray and Orpha (Hagood) Brown. She grew up in Beatrice. Brandy attended college in Kearney where she met her husband, Leo. They were married 65 years before his death in 2016. The family lived in Colorado, Tennessee, Georgia and Arkansas. Leo and Brandy retired to Beatrice and truly loved serving their community and returning to their Husker roots. Brandy was active in Federated Women, a talented and artistic needle crafter, holding a Master Level in Needlepoint. She loved Rose Society and Garden Club and her roses were prize winning. She loved animals and had many rescue (some from her daughters) dogs and cats that had wonderful lives because of her care and generosity. After the death of Leo, Brandy moved to the Villa in Beatrice. She was blessed by many new friends and became an enthusiastic card player. Brandy was a witty, humorous and adventurous woman who devoted her life to her family and she will be deeply missed.
Brandy was the mother to four daughters, Ray Kelly of Beatrice, Ava Jo Kelly of Lincoln, Stacey Berman of Castle Rock, Colorado and Lynn Kelly Stevens of Parker, Colorado; and had four grandsons, M. Hart Mauch, Reed Stevens, Heath Stevens and L.J. Berman. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Leo.
A memorial service will be held December 27, 2017 at 9:30 AM at the Villa in Beatrice. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Lingrove Cemetery in Greeley Colorado alongside Leo. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Beatrice Humane Society in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
