My grandparents, Charlie and Ruth Young, were lifelong friends of Earl and Alma White. Whenever we were in the Ellis area while growing up, we always stopped to visit them and Roland and Peg. We were probably too young to understand much about people with disabilities, but were always taught to treat Mary with kindness. I truly enjoyed her company on the occasions we came into contact. My dad, Kenny Young, always had such wonderful memories of growing up around Ellis. It is so sad that so much of the White family is gone now. I guess the same is true for a lot of the Youngs as well. I guess that is the penalty for becoming more "mature". Condolences to Lois and her family from all the Young family near and far.

My sympathy to Mary's family', I don't believe she ever forgot anyone she knew!!I always enjoyed her warm hugs anytime we would meet ,she was always happy to see me !!I remember roller skating with her on the sidewalks in Ellis when we were kids and she would always let me use a pair of her skates because I didn't have any of my own. She truly was A sweetheart and I will always remember her with loving thoughts!! Doris

Thank you for the condolences and the cute story of roller skates. I'll pass this on to my Mom, Lois White Fletcher Lampe. It was remarkable how she would remember everyone. I of course spent so much time with Terry when I came out for the weekend to stay with Grandma, Grandpa, & Mary. Thank you again for sharing!

Extending sympathy to Mary's family. She always seemed cheerful when I saw her at the nursing home. She seemed to enjoy sitting in the sunshine and enjoyed being teased by those who knew that side of her.

Thank you Debbie for sharing your thoughts and spending time doing those little things that amused her like teasing. We always seemed to get a giggle out of her up until the very end by teasing or telling her she was ornery. Thanks!
