Loren V. Daubendiek

Loren V. Daubendiek, 85 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at his home in Beatrice. He was born on September 19, 1931 in Beatrice to Edwin Sr. and Irma (Meyer) Daubendiek. Loren attended Blue Ridge Country School through the 6th grade before completing 7th and 8th grades at St. Paul Lutheran Parochial School. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1949. Loren was an auto mechanic for Paul Logan Motor Company, Studebaker Dealership from 1950 to 1959. He married Dorothy Miller on May 16, 1954 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church northeast of Beatrice. Loren started repairing TV’s in his basement before renting a building at 409 Ella Street where he continued repairing and selling TV’s and appliances. In 1968, Loren and Dorothy built the location at 1412 Court Street, owning and operating the business Daubendiek TV and Appliance until 2005. Loren was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he held various positions in both the church and school, active on the Lutheran Hospital Board, and former member of the Beatrice Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed woodworking, performing as a ventriloquist in the 1950's, traveling while in business, shows at Branson and playing cards.

Loren is survived by his wife Dorothy, 2 sons, Allen and wife Cheri of Melbourne, Florida, Gary and wife Gail of Beatrice; daughter, Janet Trout and husband David of Filley; 4 grandchildren, Spencer and Mitchell Trout, Allana and Carissa Daubendiek; step granddaughter, Amanda Roth and husband Craig; 3 step great grandchildren, Sabastion, Esme and Liam Roth; 2 brothers, Duane and wife Irene, Edwin Jr. and wife Alnora, both of Beatrice; 2 brothers-in-law, Lester Miller of Beatrice, Lewis Miller and wife Marlene of Omaha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step grandson, Joshua Barber; and parents-in-law, Meinert and Agnes Miller.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Douglas Irmer officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held in the church basement at 10:45 AM Thursday. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
