Willa Mae Ray

Willa Mae Ray, 96 of Beatrice died June 2, 2020 at her home. She was born July 8, 1923 in Long Creek, Arkansas to George William and Bertha (Knight) Ray.  She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, OK. Willa Mae graduated from Phillips University in Enid, OK before moving to Lincoln, NE where she worked for a church. Later she moved to Beatrice and worked at the Beatrice State Home in public relations. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Beatrice for many years and was very active in the church.  Willa Mae enjoyed her cat and swim class at the YMCA in Beatrice.

Survivors include her three nephews, Steve Ray and wife Sherry of Keller, TX, Mark Ray and wife Vickie of Tulsa, OK and Darrell Ray and wife Yvonne of Dallas, TX; and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George W. Ray, Jr.
