Sharon Marie (Zanto) Schroeder

Sharon Marie (Zanto) Schroeder, 69 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at her home. She was born on May 9, 1950 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Ernest and Norma (Otto) Zanto. Sharon graduated from Dr. Martin Luther High School in New Ulm, Minnesota. She married Gail Schroeder on April 8, 1969 at St. James Lutheran Church in Golden, Colorado. They lived in the Plymouth area for seventeen years. Sharon attended St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth where she served for several years as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir. In 1986, the family moved to Hebron where she worked as a custodian and bus driver at the public school and later had her own cleaning business for the surrounding areas. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Geneva for twenty nine years. After retiring in 2014, Sharon and Gail moved to Beatrice and attended St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth where she belonged to Ladies Aid and served as a church janitor. She enjoyed fishing and camping trips with family and friends, traveling and holidays with family and her granddaughter’s softball games, school concerts and church choir.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Gail; son, Martin and special friend Veronica Koenig of Plymouth; daughter, Gina Schroeder of Beatrice; granddaughter, Katelyn; brother, Stephen Zanto and wife Mary of Bridgman, Michigan; brother-in-law, Wayne Schroeder and wife Elaine of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Elaine “Liz” Schroeder of Beatrice; cousin, Dennis Zanto and wife Eileen of Lakewood, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Richard Freese and wife Marilyn, Allen Schroeder; and sister-in-law, Marlene Scheele.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth with Pastor Fred Berger officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery west of Plymouth. A family prayer service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at the church. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 PM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice and from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church in care of the church elders. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Plymouth in charge of arrangements.
