Ronda Loretta Meritt

Ronda Loretta Meritt, 60 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at CHI Health St. Elizabeth in Lincoln. She was born on April 15, 1959 in San Bernardino, California to Wayne and Dorothy (Clark) Meritt. Ronda graduated from Reynolds High School in Reynolds. She later earned an Associate Degree in Business from Southeast Community College in Beatrice. Ronda lived life to the fullest despite her longtime illness. She loved the outdoors, especially water activities and fishing. Ronda also enjoyed making crafts. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren. Ronda had many friends and was always willing to lend an ear.

Ronda is survived by her son, Michael Hockman of Lincoln; grandchildren, McKenna, Michael and Mavrick Hockman; and siblings, Regina Meritt and husband Richard of Fortuna, California, Destyn Taylor of Louisburg, Missouri, Theresa Persell of Melbourne, Arkansas and Les Meritt and wife Sue of Panama City Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Lisa Goeman.

The body will lie in state from 9 AM to 8 PM with family greeting friends 2 to 4 PM Friday, February 14, 2020 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Cremation will follow and there will be no other public services. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary.
