Roger Darrell Powell Jr., 66 years of age, of Wymore passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Beatrice. He was born on September 18, 1959, in Beatrice, Nebraska to Roger and Liana (Ottersberg) Powell. Roger enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and entered active-duty status on July 22, 1977, in Omaha, Nebraska. He served his country until his honorable discharge from the Air National Guard of August 13, 1986.
Roger is survived by his children, Alan Powell and girlfriend Rachel Blackmore of Sedalia, Missouri and their children: Jeannie Blackmore, Raiden Hiatt, and Noah Powell; Debra Powell and boyfriend Brandon Harris both of Lincoln, and her children: Bradley Powell and his girlfriend Sydney Kerner, Makayla Powell, Danielle McCarter, and Emily McCarter; 3 great-grandchildren: Elliott Powell, Ronan Munden, and Raeha Munden, his mother Liana Powell of Plattsmouth, NE; brothers: Russ and Mike Powell, sisters: Karen Hudson and husband Bruce, Janet Kouma and husband Greg, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Powell Sr., and 4 grandbabies.
A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at West Side Baptist Church, 448 West Court Street in Beatrice with Pastor Jon Palmquist officiating. Graveside Inurnment will be at 2:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska with full military honors conducted by the Offutt Funeral Honor Guard. Memorials contributions are suggested to the West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
