Robert “Bob” S. Bren, 92 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. He was born on October 21, 1932 at the base of Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming to Walter and Jessie (Weaver) Bren. Bob graduated high school from Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado in 1952. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from February 10, 1953 to February 2, 1955. Bob attended Walla Walla College in Walla Walla, Washington. He married Ollie Reinoehl on June 2, 1957 at the Campion Academy Chapel. Bob and Ollie lived in the quonset huts at Vet Village while he attended Colorado State A&M in Fort Collins. Bob earned his Associate’s degree in Computer Science from Fort Collins Community College in 1991. He worked in the mines in Colorado, at Rocky Flats in Boulder and then owned and operated a construction company in Boulder for 5 years. They moved to Oregon where Bob drove a truck for a logging company. Bob eventually was a proud independent owner/operator of his own Mack truck providing heavy hauling across North America. Bob and Ollie moved to Florida in 2008 where they lived in Palatka and Clermont. They moved to Orangeville, California and settled in Beatrice in 2020. He was a member of the Beatrice Seventh Day Adventist Church, Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association and multiple Veteran’s Associations. Bob enjoyed camping, the outdoors, the mountains and traveling.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ollie; children, Wanda Garrett of Beatrice, Robert Bren II and wife Ruth of Valdosta, Georgia, Chris Bren and wife Young of Jacksonville, Florida, Heidi Nizer of Beatrice, Nicole Seroky and husband J. of Lititz, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Bob Garrett; 1 infant brother; brother, Walter Bren and wife Dorothy; and sister, Theresa Prime and husband Paul.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Beatrice Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Hubert Cisinaros officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Beatrice Seventh Day Adventist Church in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
