Patricia Jean (Cofield) Corey

Patricia Jean Corey, 99, died July 9, 2024, in San Luis Obispo, California. She was born to Jesse Douglas and May Belle (Rew) Cofield in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, on June 12, 1925.

She married Herbert Corey May 6, 1944. They were married 62 years until his death in 2006 and lived all but 10 years of their married life in California. Pat had a dream that they lived in a schoolhouse, so when Herb retired in 1974, they moved to be close to family in Nebraska, where they bought the Rockford Schoolhouse and remodeled it into a home.

Pat was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Cinde Corey; brother; and three sisters. She is survived by sons, Steve (Gail) Corey of San Luis Obispo, California, Larry Corey of Auburn; five grandchildren, Tyler, Leah, Lindsey, Brett, and Marisa; and nine great-grandchildren, Myla, Elyse, Quinn, Mason, Conner, Silas, Bodi, Elston, and Talon.

Patricia will be laid to rest at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice on August 2, 2024. The Burial will be attended by immediate family only as requested.
