Norma J. (Spears) Lambert, 90 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 25, 1934 in Mountainburg, Arkansas to Alvis and Florence (Torrey) Spears. Norma graduated in 1952 from Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson, Kansas. She married Lawrence Lambert on June 7, 1953 in Hutchinson. Lawrence and Norma lived many places before permanently settling in Beatrice in 1965. They owned and operated Croy’s Drive Inn for 11 years, Homestead Cafeteria for 2 years and the Culligan Water Franchise for 7 years. Norma also worked as a manager at Casey’s General Store of 10 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed reading, watching game shows and mysteries, traveling, Nebraska football and spending time with family.
Norma is survived by her husband, Lawrence; daughters, Sharon Leigh McKay of Quincy, California, Stacy Lynette Cloyed and husband Pete of Summerfield, Kansas; son-in-law, Michael Blacketer of Dorchester; 6 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Laura Susan Lambert, Sandra Lynn Blacketer; son-in-law, Bruce McKay; and brother, James Spears.
Graveside inurnment will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
