Melanie D. (Schiermeyer) Johnson

Melanie D. (Schiermeyer) Johnson, 59 years of age, of Blue Springs passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on January 9, 1962 in Beatrice to James and Mary (Maine) Schiermeyer. Melanie graduated from Southern High School in Wymore in 1980 and earned her nursing degree from Southeast Community College in Beatrice. She married Steven Johnson on October 19, 1991 at the Blue Springs United Methodist Church. Melanie worked several places including the Martin Luther Home, Southern Public Schools and at nursing homes in Seneca, Marysville, Wymore and Beatrice. She was a member of the Blue Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards, her computer and country music.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Steven; daughters, Megan Johnson and husband Casey Briggs of Auburn, Amelia Johnson and significant other, Logan McAllister of Blue Springs; granddaughter, Aurora Briggs and one on the way; brother, Robert Schiermeyer and wife Kris of Omaha; and sister, Dee Day and husband Don of Wymore. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Andrew; and grandparents.

Private family inurnment will be held in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. A register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
