Marilyn K. (Ewer) Brendle, 81 years of age, of Omaha passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the Walnut Grove Retirement Community in Omaha. She was born on September 9, 1943 in Kearney to Russell and Doris (Zimmer) Ewer. Marilyn graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelor's degree in 1966 and a master’s degree in 1970 in health, physical education and recreation. She taught physical education for 30 years in Omaha at Morton Junior High and Grand Island at Barr Junior High prior to moving to Beatrice in 1989. Marilyn volunteered for the ABE Program, Dept. of Social Services, served as a GED tutor and in the County Extension Office while living in Beatrice. She was a big Husker fan, loved all college sports, was an avid bird watcher and reader and enjoyed working on her computer and connecting with former students and loved ones via many different forms of technology.
Marilyn is survived by her brother, Don Ewer and wife Bev; nieces, Julie Johnson and husband Wes, Angie Nicholson and husband Joe; nephew, Scott Ewer and wife Barb; great nieces, Alexis Griffiths and husband Camdon, Rylee Johnson and Shelby Nicholson; and great nephew, Colton Nicholson, all of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger Brendle; and brother-in-law, Jim Brendle.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 in the Pleasanton Cemetery in Pleasanton, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
