Marcellin Agnes Kalin Little, 93, of Beatrice, NE passed away October 30, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Beatrice, NE. She was born January 28, 1927 in a farm home near Burchard, NE to Emil and Agnes Gyhra Kalin. She attended District #15 a one-room school northeast of Burchard, and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1943, at the age of 16.  After high school she worked at Jerpes Creamery and Lang’s Grocery in Tecumseh.  On March 5, 1946, she married Billie Val Little at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burchard, NE.  Five children were born to this union: Patricia Michielutti, William Little, Judith Little, Linda Reiman and Terrance Little.

After their marriage, Marcellin and Bill lived on a farm near Crab Orchard.  In 1949, they purchased 80 acres northeast of Lewiston where they lived for ten years. They bought a farm south of Lewiston in 1959.  Marcellin and Bill made their home there for 51 years.  Marcellin worked alongside Bill in the fields, as well as tending a huge vegetable garden, canning and preserving the produce. She loved being outside and working in her flower garden.  On Sundays, the family gathered at the farm, where Marcellin served family favorites like fried chicken, canned beef, homemade pies and cinnamon rolls. Her biggest joy was visits from her grandkids and great-grandkids and following their activities. Marcellin filled many scrap books with stories, memories and photos of her family. She had beautiful handwriting, and enjoyed writing letters.  Billie died April 21 2001. She remained on the farm until 2010 when she moved to Beatrice.
