Luann Avery (Kinseth) Hohbein

Luann Avery (Kinseth) Hohbein, 89 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. She was born on December 17, 1928 in Belmond, Iowa to Ray and Mardel (Avery) Kinseth. Luann lived with her Avery grandparents after her mother died when she was 3 years old. She attended school in Iowa until they moved to Beatrice during the War in November of 1944. Luann graduated from Beatrice High School in 1946. She attended Doane College for 2 years and married Charles G. Hohbein on March 26, 1950. Luann was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church since 1951, United Methodist Women, 30 years in the church library, treasurer of her church circle, Keystone Supper Group, Chief Action, Church Women United, funeral committee, Federated Women’s Club and the American Legion Auxiliary for 45 years. She enjoyed traveling overseas for 10 years, bowling for 30 years where she attended state and nationals, reading, flowers, yardwork, bird watching, and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Luann is survived by a son, Charles R. and wife Lorna; daughter, Julie Hohbein, both of Beatrice; grandson, Adam and wife Kylee; and great granddaughters, Ellee and Saige. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles G. in 1967; and brother, Ray.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 PM Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Veteran’s Club in Beatrice. Private graveside inurnment will be held in the Evergreen Home Cemetery. A register book will be available from 9 AM to 5 PM Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Auxiliary in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
