Louis "Louie" Boeve Obituary

Louis “Louie” Ray Boeve, 68 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 in Beatrice. He was born on December 22, 1952 in Tecumseh to Russell and Susie (Logsdon) Boeve. Louie graduated from Sterling High School in 1971. Shortly after, he worked in maintenance for the State of Nebraska, retiring after 34 years where he mowed the Governor’s Mansion yard at one time and was implemental in opening the Nebraska State Patrol office in Scottsbluff. Louie married the love of his life, Kari Genzmer on January 24, 1981 in Deshler and to this union was born Kailyn Ray Boeve. He worked alongside his uncle Bob Logsdon at the American Legion Club in Lincoln where he also drove the courtesy car. Louie then worked at Regional West Medical Center until fully retiring after losing his first toe. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Jaycees and the WNCC Booster Club where he and Kari were dorm parents to many students and kept statistics for the men’s basketball team. Louie enjoyed playing many years of coed softball, fishing, golfing, yardwork, drinking beer and especially the time with his family and his extended family who he thought of as immediate family.

Louie is survived by his daughter, Kailyn Ramirez and husband Saint of Beatrice; grandchildren, Sawyer, Ezmiraya and Junior; cousin, Jimmy Chiles and wife Kris, their children, Shane Chiles and Shelly Chiles and their families.; god daughter, Tina Agena and her children, Shelby and Keegan, all of Lincoln; nephew, Cody Boeve and wife Rachelle and their children, Tony and Braylee; niece, Jennifer Boeve, all of Endicott; great nephew, Keden Boeve; parents-in-law, Roger and Marilyn Genzmer of Deshler; and several other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kari on March 24, 2002; brother, Tony Boeve; and several other family members.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Sterling Cemetery with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Nebraska attire is suggested. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life at Scott’s Place the Legacy Bar in Sterling. There will be no viewing, but a register book will be available from 9 AM to 5 PM Friday, June 11, 2021 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
