Lois Georgian (Shaner) Moore

Lois Georgian (Shaner) Moore, 88 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on November 18, 1937 in Lincoln to Carl and Iva (Powell) Shaner. Lois lived in Washington D.C. in the early 1940’s during WWII before relocating back to Nebraska. She graduated from Holmesville High School in 1956 and earned her degree from the Lincoln School of Commerce. Lois married Kenneth Moore on April 11, 1958 at the Wymore United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and babysitter for many years before working at ESU 5 for 23 years. Lois was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and currently a 50+ year member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice where she was active within the church women groups and circles. She was also a member of the Blue Valley Camping club and Vespers. Lois enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, making quilts, camping, traveling and spent several years volunteering at the Homestead National Monument.

Lois is survived by her children, Pamela Carlson and husband Lewis of St. Edward, Cynthia Waltke, Vickie Harms and husband Dave, Michael Moore, Jeffrey Moore and wife Kyla all of Beatrice, grandchildren: Chad Carlson and wife Christy, Rebecca Bode and husband Matt, Travis Carlson, Rachel Penner, Brenda Svoboda and husband Brent, Jacob Harms and wife Jordan, Caleb Harms and wife Jesse, Konnor and Dax Moore, 13 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Grimes and husband Harold of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Cheryel Moore of Beatrice, Leila Shaner of Lincoln; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth on August 29, 2022; son-in-law, David Waltke; brother, Kenneth Shaner; brother-in-law, John Moore; and parents-in-law, George and Beulah (Lund) Moore.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Paixao Baptista officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasantview Cemetery near Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 AM Wednesday in the church parlor. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM. Memorials are suggested to MOSAIC, Centenary United Methodist Church or Cottonwood Hospice in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
