Leon “Lee” L. Jensen, 88 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice. He was born on October 29, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Julie (Buehler) Jensen. Lee served his country in the United States Air Force from March 6, 1953 to March 5, 1957 as a ground power equipment engineer. He married Rebecca Hawkins in October of 1962. Lee worked several jobs including as a mechanic at Montgomery Wards, as an owner of The Pub in Beatrice for several years and 22 years at Super Car Wash in Beatrice. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Beatrice and a past member of the Legion and Eagle’s clubs. Lee was hardworking and enjoyed fishing, mowing, the outdoors, fiddling with his tractor and coaching softball teams.
Lee is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughters, Debbie Hardwick and husband Rick of Otis Orchards, Washington, Kathy Skiles and husband Blaine, Linda Snyder; son, Mike Jensen and wife Brenda, all of Beatrice; grandchildren, Evan, Mathew, Andrew and Alysa Skiles, Markuz Pospichal, Heather, Nick and Miranda Snyder, Zac, Cortney and Chelsie Hardwick; many great grandchildren; and beloved german shepherd, Sampson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack; and sisters, Julie, Katherine and Christina.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 at West Side Baptist Church in Beatrice with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment with military rites by the United States Air Force and Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 1:15 PM on Friday in the church basement. Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 9 AM to 8 PM with family greeting from 5:30 to 7 PM. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
