Larry R. Ames

Larry R. Ames, 71 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was born in Beatrice on July 22, 1952 in Beatrice to Jesse and Evelyn (Wilhelm) Ames. Larry graduated from Beatrice High School in 1971. He worked several places including Dempsters, Store Kraft and the Virginia Grain Elevator. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cards, working on small engines and lately scrapping.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Trudy Baker and husband Russell of Lincoln; brother, David Ames of Norfolk; sister, Judy Prebyl; brother-in-law, Robert Janssen; nieces, Dena Janssen, all of Beatrice, Tammy Waltke and husband Mike of Clatonia; and nephews, Scott Janssen and wife Keri, of Beatrice, Brad Ames and wife Suzann and Kevin Ames and wife Jenny, both of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Janssen; sister-in-law, DeeAnn Ames; brother-in-law, Dennis Prebyl; and niece, Renda Husa.

There will be no services at this time. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
