Kyel Casper James Mackey, 23, was found deceased in Beatrice on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his home. He was born October 31, 1995 in Beatrice, NE. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 2015. Kyel was a Denver Broncos fan, enjoyed playing video games, watching movies, basketball, baseball, and fishing for flathead catfish. Kyel had a way of making everyone around him feel special. He never let people know how bad he felt or burden them with his illness.
Survivors include his mother, Robin Watson; brothers and sisters, Brian Mackey of Nebraska, Michael Kopf and wife Megan of DeWitt, NE, Heidi Kopf of Beatrice, Brandon Kopf of Beatrice, Cody Kopf and wife Ashlee of Humboldt, NE, Dakota Watson of Auburn, NE: numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Watson; grandparents, Harvey and Elsie Watson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, at the corner of 10th and Ella Street in Beatrice. Following the ceremony, Kyel’s ashes will be laid to rest at the Wymore Cementary with his father, grandparents and uncle on the Watson family plot. Immediately following the gravesite service, all family and friends are invited to a bbq dinner being held at the Beatrice Sertoma Club Cabin at the Chatacqua Park in Beatrice.
