Kody Lee Rayburn, 29 years of age, of Lancaster County passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings after injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on December 15, 1995 in Lincoln to Dennis Persinger Jr. and LeShara Rayburn.
Kody was a man whose kindness touched everyone he met. With a big personality and an even bigger heart, he was the kind of person who never met a stranger—everyone quickly became a friend. Outgoing and full of life he was known for his mischievous grin and playful sense of humor that could light up any room. A dedicated father beyond measure, his love for his children was unwavering, and his hard work reflected his deep commitment to providing them with the best life possible. He had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and special. An adventurer at heart, he embraced life with boundless enthusiasm, always ready for the next challenge or a new experience. Though taken far too soon, his memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of love, laughter, and friendship will live on in the hearts he left behind.
Kody is survived by his children, Jalen Schmitz, Layla Rayburn, Austin Rayburn; mother, LeShara Rayburn of Goehner; father, Dennis Persinger Jr. and wife DeAnna of Omaha; grandparents, Robert Rayburn of Beatrice, Mary Persinger of Lincoln; brother, Kade Rayburn of Lincoln; sister, Braylin Persinger of Omaha; step-brother, Kyle Love; step-sister, Hannah Love of Seward; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brenda Rayburn, Dennis Persinger, Sr., Herman “Keith” and Myra Krahmer; uncle, Darren Rayburn; and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 20, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Rev. Dr. Renae Koehler officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice from 2 to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 PM. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
