Joyce N. (Hicks) Johnson

Joyce N. (Hicks) Johnson, 88 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021. She was born on May 20, 1933 in Sikeston, Missouri to Floyd and Lela (Poyner) Hicks. Joyce married Henry A. Johnson on July 8, 1950 in Anna, Illinois. In the early part of their marriage, they lived in the McClure, Illinois area and moved to Nebraska in 1960. To this marriage, they had seven children. Joyce was a CNA and worked at the Lutheran Hospital, Good Samaritan Society and BSDC. She enjoyed socializing on Friday nights years ago, puzzles, cross stitch, pickle cards, casinos and especially time with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Henry; children, Henry Johnson Jr and wife Gail of Belville, Texas, Doris Lueders and husband Rodney of Beatrice; Billie Johnson and wife Vikki of Rapid City, South Dakota, Katherine Hutchison and husband Jeff of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Vickie Habrich and husband Steve of Lincoln, Brenda Osborne and husband Jeff of Pawnee City, Danny Johnson of Providence, Rhode Island; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and parents-in-law, Elmer and Clara (Prater) Johnson.

There will be no services. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Bethel Cemetery south of Wymore. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
