Joshua Lee May

Joshua Lee May, 37 years of age, of Beatrice passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Beatrice Community Hospital. He was born on January 21, 1989, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Douglas and Sharon Kay (Wylie) May.

Josh will be remembered for his strong spirit, kind heart, and the way he showed up for the people he loved.  He had a down-to-earth personality and a sense of humor that could lighten any room.  Whether he was spending time with family, helping someone out, or just enjoying the simple things in life, Josh made a lasting impression on those around him.

More than anything, Josh cared deeply about his family and friends, and those relationships meant everything to him. He will be forever remembered for his loyalty, his strength, and the love he gave so freely. Josh leaves behind loved ones who will miss him deeply and carry his memory forward every day.  He is survived by his father Douglas May and step-mother Rhonda Weatherby of Hickman, NE; brothers: Douglas May II of Hickman, NE; Matthew May of Beatrice, Michael May and his wife Chelsea of Murray, NE; Brandon Neil of Beatrice, step-sister Tawny Weatherby of Lincoln, step-brother Marshall Weatherby of Hickman, NE; and many other aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Sharon Eldrington, fraternal grandparents Jesse and Janice (Armstrong) May, and maternal grandparents Roger and Phyliss Wylie.

Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Summit Street Church in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family with a later designation.  Condolences can be shared online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com
