John G. Tucker, Sr.

John G. Tucker, Sr., 92 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. He was born on September 17, 1931 at Holmesville to Donald and Effie (Whitehead) Tucker. John graduated from Beatrice High School and then served his country in the United States Army and Air Force. He was a truck driver in Chicago for many years. John was a member of Christ Community Church and a past member of the Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagle’s Aerie #531. He enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, the Huskers, fishing and especially time with grandchildren.

John is survived by his children, Jim Tucker and wife Alba of Hawthorne, California, Vickie Tucker-Hunnicutt of Beatrice, John Tucker, Jr. of Diller; step-daughter, Harriet Stonearrow of Minnesota; 23 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and 26 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Alma (LeBeau) Tucker; infant son, Robert Tucker; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Tucker; grandchildren, Jennifer, Chrissy and Elizabeth; and great grandson, Seth.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 30, 2023 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. Inurnment with military rites will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
