John David Barr Jr.

John David Barr Jr., 74 Beatrice, NE passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, NE. He was born March 29, 1946 in Wayne, NE to John D. Sr. and Jessie (Axmear) Barr. John worked in maintenance at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln.  He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in December of 1964.  John was a member of the American Legion Club Post #294 in Hallam, NE. He enjoyed playing softball, camping, fishing, Husker sports, NASCAR, KC Chiefs, KC Royals, and being outdoors with his family and friends. He married Dee on June 28, 1988.

Survivors include his wife, Dee Barr of Beatrice; sons, Will Barr and wife Tracy of Lincoln, and David Barr of Owensboro, KY; daughter, Christine Chapman-Vigil of Santa Fe, N.M.; several grandchildren including, Jaycee, and her daughter Izzi, Livvie, Lane, Coshma, Anthony, John, Mercedes, and Damion; stepchildren, Michael Vodicka, Amy Vodicka, and Marvin Vodicka; brothers-in-law, Howard Isaacs, and Glen Isaacs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Barr.
