Jana Lynn (Yost) Watts

Jana Lynn (Yost) Watts, 54 years of age, of Beatrice passed away at her daughter’s home in DeWitt surrounded by family on Friday, November 7, 2025. She was born on August 31, 1971 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Martin and Lynnda (Sardeson) Yost. Jana graduated from Fairbury High School in 1990 before going to Joseph’s College of Hair Design in Lincoln, then Beatrice. She worked at Cost Cutters Hair Salon in Beatrice and then opened Studio 301 in DeWitt where she did hair for several years. Jana began working at Wurth Adams where she met the love of her life, Jeff. They were married on June 6, 2020 at Eagle Raceway. Racing was a big part of Jana’s life, so much that she worked at Eagle Raceway and wrote stories for the Beatrice Daily Sun at Beatrice Speedway. She had a passion for crafts and had Jana’s Door Décor Wreath Boutique since 2018. Jana was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fairbury and enjoyed racing, her dogs, grandchildren and crafts.

Jana is survived by her father, Martin Yost of Beatrice; husband, Jeff; children, Brittany Murray and husband Travis of DeWitt, Tylor Reed of Springfield, Kylie Keller and husband Justin of Ainsworth, Austin Watts and wife Katelynn of Beatrice; 6 grandchildren; sister, Brandy Yost of Lincoln; and sisters-in-law, Kristy Pope and husband Scott of Big Lake, Missouri and Jodi Carel and husband Tom of Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her mother.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
