Helen Louise (Church) Jordening

Helen Louise (Church) Jordening, 91 years of age, of Plymouth, Nebraska went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice. She was born on November 22, 1932, in Fairbury, Nebraska to Glenn and Mildred (Gray) Church. Helen was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury, Nebraska and graduated from Daykin High School with the class of 1951.  On November 26, 1954, she was united in marriage to Noel Jordening at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Daykin, Nebraska.  To this union five children, Lynn, Joan, Arlene, Paul, and Laurie were born.  The couple moved to Plymouth, Nebraska in 1964 where they raised their family and Helen worked for American Tool in DeWitt, Nebraska for 22 years.  She was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Daykin and was active in the lady’s aid.  Helen in her spare time enjoyed doing crafts, but most of all enjoyed quilting.

Helen is survived by her four children, Lynn Jordening and wife Polly of Grand Island, NE, Joan Schwisow of Plymouth, NE; Arlene Snyder and husband Steve of DeWitt, NE; Laurie Werner of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her brother Ralph Church and wife Karen of San Antonio, TX; sisters-in-law: Doris Church of Beatrice, NE; Sandy Church of Crete, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Noel, son Paul, brothers Dennis and Larry Church, an infant brother and a great-grandson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, July 19, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Daykin, Nebraska with Pastor Karl Hollibaugh officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Daykin. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 9:00 AM- 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at Harman-Wright Mortuary, 623 Elk Street in Beatrice. Memorials contributions are suggested to the family’s choice with a later designation. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
