Gerald D. Durst, Sr.

Gerald D. Durst Sr., of Beatrice passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on April 30, 1934 in Washington County, Kansas. Gerald worked for several years for two Aircraft Companies; one was MacDonald and the other Beach Craft. He served 2 years in the Army. Gerald was on the Post Rifle Team. He worked in construction for several years before retiring from Hoover as a welder. Gerald married Laurine Garnier on January 12, 1957 in Marysville, Kansas. Born to this marriage were 4 daughters and 2 sons.

Gerald is survived by his sons, Michael and Gerald Jr.; daughters, Julie, Sharon and Diana; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Durst and Viola Yeager Durst; wife, Laurine; daughter, Sharlene; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and grandson, Jeremy.

Per Gerald’s request, there will be no viewing. Graveside services for his immediate family will be at a later date at Evergreen Home Cemetery. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
