George “Mike” Michael Lampe was born on December 1, 1953 to George and Leila (Broadstone) Lampe in Beatrice. Mike, as he was known by family and friends, “walked to the beat of a different drum.” He attended school in Beatrice. Family remembers him as a kind and loving man; and perhaps a little ornery on occasion. In high school, he worked for Bell’s Western Wear. Mike, with his horse Penny, did barrel racing in 4-H. He even did a little rodeo bull riding.
Preceding Mike in death are his mother, Leila; father, George; step-mother, Ruth; and brother, Dan.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Donna. Two Children. Step-daughters, Heather and Cassie. Two sisters, Tannis (Dave) Christ and Cathy (Ron) Schultz and a brother Kevin. Also, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mike will be missed by many.
There will be a gathering for friends and family at the Bitting-Norman American Legion Post 27, 701 Dorsey Street, Beatrice, on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
