Gary “Bugsy” J. Rolenc, 79 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. He was born on February 23, 1945 in Fremont to Joseph and Anna (Voboril) Rolenc. Bugsy served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from September 16, 1965 to September 5, 1969. He owned and operated A.R.E. Pest Control in Beatrice. Bugsy enjoyed restoring tractors and breakfast at the Sale Barn with his friends. In his younger years, he spent much time hunting, fishing and playing softball.
Bugsy is survived by his sister, Virginia Pullen; brother, Milo Rolenc and wife Mary, both of Fremont; nieces and nephews, Ed Pullen and wife Julie of Elkhorn, Lori Peters and husband Steve of West Point, Ken Pullen and wife Denise of Omaha, Rodney Rolenc and wife April of North Bend, Jeanette Ostrand of Fremont; along with several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant twin brothers, James and John.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 25, 2024 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor David Bigley officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials are suggested to Cedar Bluffs American Legion or Ducks Unlimited in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
