Gary "Big G" Lynn Borzekofski

Gary “Big G” Lynn Borzekofski, son of Dale and Lorene Borzekofski was born November 19, 1946 in Beatrice. He was entered into rest October 20, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice from Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 76. Gary attended Plymouth Public School and 2 years at Saint Joseph School. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1965 and enlisted in the Air Force later that year. Gary served for 4 years in North Dakota, South Carolina, Washington and in 5 locations in Vietnam. His service ended in 1969. Gary was married to Vicki (Haecker) Borzekofski for 36 years until her death on November 22, 2010. He was a kind man and loved being a truck driver hauling cattle. Gary collected wolf items, enjoyed rebuilding cars, and watching Nebraska football and the Kansas City Chiefs. He especially enjoyed his dogs, reading, and studying the bible.

Gary is survived by his son, Reggie and Keri Borzekofski of Beatrice; daughter, Angela Barnett and special friend Brian Wiedel of Pleasant Dale; grandsons, Zachary Borzekofski of Lincoln,  Joshua and Jordan Borzekofski of Lincoln, Nicholas Clark and special friend Ashley of Melbourne, Florida; granddaughters, Aaron and Chad Klein of Lincoln, Micki Clark of and special friend Aj Sucha of Lincoln, KayCee and John Rowden of Crete; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Vicki and Larry Schmidt of Plymouth; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki; his parents, Dale and Lorene Borzekofski; sister, Janice Harris; nephew, Bryson Haecker; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Arden Dorn officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday in the church chapel. Interment with military rites will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday in the Omaha National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 from 2 to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 5 pm to 7 pm. Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or the Good Samaritan Society in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
