Frances A. Johnson of Beatrice, 75, died October 6th, 2024, at Good Samaritan in Beatrice. She was born April 15th, 1949, in Beatrice NE. Frances left school in 1965 to help support her mom, Frances worked hard and proudly received her GED in 2001. On April 10, 1969, she married Lyle Johnson in Beatrice, NE. She moved with Lyle to San Francisco in 1969, where Lyle was stationed in the Marines Corps, before moving back to Lincoln and finally settling in Beatrice. She worked at BSDC for 24 years before retiring in 2001. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, reading, traveling and loved spending time with her family who she selflessly put first, she was very proud of her children and adored her grandchildren. She also loved her dog, Bailey, who brought her so much joy.
She will be missed by many friends who she was close to and enjoyed talking with.
She is survived by her sons: Landis Johnson and wife Janel of Lincoln, NE; Eric Johnson of Beatrice, NE; 3 grandchildren: Elyssa Voss and husband Peyton of Sioux Falls, SD; Corben Johnson and fiancé Jada of Lincoln, NE; Landis Johnson of Lincoln, NE; sisters-in-law: Connie Protsman of Atmore, AL; Karen Johnson of Lincoln, NE; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna (Smith) Protsman, husband Lyle Johnson, brother Joseph Protsman and half-sister’s Esther Choitz and Marilynn McCammond.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice with Tom Shutts officiating. Burial will immediately follow services at Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Visitation will be held from Noon to 8 PM on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at Harman-Wright Mortuary with the family greeting friends from 6:00-7:30 PM. A register book is also available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for messages of condolence. A memorial has been established to the Family’s choice, with the mortuary in charge of arrangements.
