Dean Leroy Rosenthal, 71, of Beatrice passed away on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. He was born August 29, 1953, in Beatrice, Nebraska to Oscar and Milda (Malchow) Rosenthal. Dean was raised on the family farm north of Harbine where he was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. Dean attended Tri County High School graduating with the class of 1971. After graduating, Dean spent several years serving his country in the Army National Guard. On April 3, 1976, Dean was united in marriage to Janice Carmichael at the United Methodist Church in Burr, Nebraska. To this union two sons, Jason and Jeremy were born. Dean worked at the Coop in Harbine and later in Plymouth where he worked at the elevator and then the feed mill. He later worked for several years at American Tool in DeWitt. Dean was an avid outdoorsman. He truly loved being outside spending his time fishing, hunting, deer hunting, or trapping.
Dean is survived by his sons: Jason Rosenthal and wife Emily of Beatrice, Jeremy Rosenthal and wife Carin of Beatrice, grandchildren: Mikayla, Evan and Ava Rosenthal of Beatrice, Isaak and Elijah Rosenthal of Beatrice, great-grandchildren Bentley and Briar Rosenthal of Beatrice, siblings: Gerald Rosenthal and wife Dorathea of Fairbury, NE; Marge Wollenburg and husband Herb of Odell, NE; Leola Wollenburg of Beatrice, NE; Duane Rosenthal of Harbine, NE; Elaine Blobaum of Harbine, NE; Leonard Rosenthal and wife Laura of Harbine, NE; Marilyn Adam and husband Dale of Beatrice, NE; Gary Rosenthal of Harbine, NE; Shirley Petersen and husband Kevin of Beatrice, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Walter Wollenburg and Don Blobaum, and nephew Michael Rosenthal.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 14th, 2024, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Harbine, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch. Burial will immediately follow services at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at Harman-Wright Mortuary with the family greeting friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A register book is also available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for messages of condolence. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice, with the mortuary in charge of arrangements.
