Charlotte Marie (Erdman) Parris

Charlotte Marie (Erdman) Parris, 74 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on December 17, 1950 in Geneseo, Illinois to Wayne and Joan (Will) Erdman. Charlotte grew up in Geneseo, Illinois and graduated from United Township High School in Moline, Illinois. She married Charles A. Tieken in June of 1969 and to this union were born two daughters, Tonya and Joette. They later divorced. Charlotte married Michael Parris in May of 1982 and to this union were born two more daughters, Rachel and Rebekah. They also later divorced. Charlotte babysat, worked as a dispatcher in Geneseo, Illinois and at the Henry County Courthouse in Cambridge, Illinois. With Michael being a minister while they were married, they moved a lot and in 1987 they came to Trinity Lutheran Church west of Beatrice. Charlotte was very involved with all the church’s and volunteer work. They served church’s throughout Iowa before Charlotte finally settled in Beatrice. She was a member of Summit Street Church in Beatrice. Charlotte was a very spiritual person and enjoyed walking and sending cards to others.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Tonya Bragg and husband Steve of Filley, Joette van Zyl and husband Christie of Beatrice, Rachel Zingher and husband Josh of Norfolk, Virginia, Rebekah Koch and husband Jon of Riceville, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Erdman of Geneseo, Illinois, John Erdman of Kewanee, Illinois; 1 niece; and several nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; great grandson, Brody Benash; brother, William Erdman; and nephew, William “Mikey” Erdman.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Andrew Dungan officiating. Inurnment at a later date will be in Illinois. There will be no visitation but a register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in care of the funeral home. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
