Betty I. (Shields) Lowe

Betty I. (Shields) Lowe, 87 years of age, of Fairbury passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. She was born on October 27, 1935 in Salina, Kansas to Walter and Gatha Shields. Betty was a hard working and loving mother who was a friend to all. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling, cooking Sunday dinners and especially time with all of her family and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children, Ray D. Lowe of Fairbury, Melody Dooley of Chester, Arkansas, Lloyd Lowe and wife Susan, Gatha Lowe, both of Lincoln; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers, Dwaine Shields and wife Lynne, Merlin Shields, both of Boise, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Lyle Leroy Lowe; son, J.D. Lowe; great grandson, Calvin Roland; sisters, Wuanita Alexander and husband Ernest, Luberta Lemons and husband Bill; brother, Dale Shields and wife Irene; and sister-in-law, Doris Shields.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
