Anita Louise (Bergman) Wilgers, 65 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on May 6, 1958 in Omaha to Raymond and Wanda (Knoop) Bergman. Anita served her country in the United States Navy and worked several places including Vise Grip, Exmark and especially enjoyed her jobs in corrections at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution and Gage County Jail. She married Joel Wilgers on April 5, 2003 and they later separated in 2020. Anita was a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe and enjoyed Estes Park and Colorado, hiking, word puzzles, Husker football, camping, fishing, collecting Native American memorabilia and spending time with her grandchildren.
Anita is survived by her children, Rayjeanna Reiber and husband Bryan, Destany Matulka and husband Wyatt, Hayley Wilgers, Chaz Wilgers, all of Lincoln, Cayd Wilgers of Beatrice, David Haschke of Grand Island; grandchildren, Benjamin Reiber, Kaylan Anderson, Trevon Anderson, Sawyer Wilgers, Elijah Haschke; sisters, Jean Ackley and husband Fred of Springfield, Missouri, Raynette Essman of Beatrice, Pam Russell and husband John of Filley; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Michelle Volle.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at American Lutheran Church in Filley. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
