Alberta LaRue (Schwisow) Cullison

Alberta LaRue (Schwisow) Cullison, 87 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. She was born on August 17, 1934 in Fairbury to Herbert and Alice (Drewing) Schwisow. Alberta graduated from Wilber High School in 1952. She married Marlyn Cullison Jr on April 23, 1958 in Clatonia. Alberta loved raising her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other children in her life. She attended Christ Community Church in Beatrice. She was a “professional firework critic” and people watcher who enjoyed fireworks, helping people pack and move, traveling to Moorhead, Minnesota, word find puzzles and especially time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alberta is survived by her daughters, Sharon Solum (Jim) of Lenexa, Kansas, Rhondarae Henderson of Beatrice, Janis Turner (Sid) of Beatrice; son, Chris Cullison of Beatrice; son-in-law, Brenden Torkelson of Fargo, North Dakota; grandchildren, Ben Solum (Tiffany), Tim Solum, Phillip Henderson, Aaron Henderson, Jon Henderson, Rebekah Henderson, Matthew Torkelson, Adam Turner (Allison), Alicia Turner, Josh Turner (Lindsey), Jacob Turner; bonus grandchildren, Missy Sand (Jason), Darin Fentress (Donavan); great-grandchildren, Tori and Elaina, Cooper, Evelyn and Ella, Jordan, Maddie and Mason, Logan; bonus great-granddaughter, Ryan; brothers, Lyle Schwisow (Karlene) of Wilber, Arthur Schwisow (Ruth) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Roger Schwisow (Eldonna) of Lincoln, James Schwisow (Cindy) of Milton, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Cheryl Cullison of Beatrice; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlyn on March 21, 2020; daughter, Sharlynn Torkelson; brother-in-law, Robert Cullison; and sister-in-law, Betty Wilhelm (Raymond).

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Wymore Church of Christ in Wymore with Pastors Clayton Lundstedt and Jack Magness officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 AM Saturday at the church. Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 2 to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
