Tony Ivan Layman Sr.

Tony Ivan Layman Sr., 75, Beatrice, NE passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at his home. He was born September 2, 1943 in Tell City, IN to Henry and Katherine (Bowman) Layman. He attended Tell City High School. Tony married Helen on March 11, 1963 in Beatrice. He worked in the Tie Yard for a railroad in Indiana before moving to Beatrice in 1976, where he worked for Dempsters, Hoover Universal, F.D. Kees Mfg., Volner Roofing and worked horses with Tom Hawkins. His hobby was working on cars.

Survivors include his children, Henry “Hank” Layman, Tony Layman Jr., Barb Bartram & husband Tony, Gary Layman & wife Christy, Billy Layman & significant other Paula Bishop and Philip Olin all of Beatrice; ex-wife Helen Jessop; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Shayla Layman; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice following services.  Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  Sunday, August 24, 2019 at the mortuary.
