Thelma “Joyce” (Clark) Kimes, 82 years of age, of York, formerly of Beatrice passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Henderson Health Care Services in Henderson. She was born on January 2, 1936 in Endicott to Glen and Vera (Nutter) Clark. Joyce graduated from Endicott High School. She married John Kimes, Jr. on November 25, 1953 in Endicott. They moved to Beatrice in 1958 and she worked for the Lincoln Telephone Company. She loved her husband, kids and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by sons, Jim Kimes and wife Beckie of Lincoln,Dave Kimes of Fort Collins, Colorado; daughter, Sue Donahue and friend Randy Howell of York; 6 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Zweifel and husband Delbert of Fairbury; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Bell and husband Richard and Dorothy Forbis, all of California; She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Kimes, Jr. on July 28, 2014; great granddaughter, Taylor Kimes-Sudik; sisters, Doris Homburger, Laree Mewes, Donna Barnts; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Prine, Norma Kimes, Betty Larson; and brothers-in-law, Gordon Kimes, Harlan “Bud” Kimes, and Mark Forbis.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Aaron Philips officiating. Interment will follow in the Steele City Cemetery near Steele City. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM Friday, May 11, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
