Steven G. Wehmer

Steven G. Wehmer, 63, of Beatrice, NE passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born in Beatrice, NE on December 1, 1955 to Gaylord and Beverly (McCoy) Wehmer. Steve graduated from Lewiston Consolidated High School in 1974. After high school Steve attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and played football. He enjoyed farming just as much as he loved football. He farmed with his Dad, near Lewiston, where they raised hay and pigs. Steve eventually retired and moved to Beatrice. He enjoyed cars, music, animals, kids and of course Husker sports. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling with friends, especially to Colorado and the mountains. Steve was a past member of the FFA, 4-H, and the Pork Producers and a current member of the Eagles Club Aerie #531 in Beatrice.

Survivors include his sisters, Gail Frahm of Lincoln, NE and Lori Mays of Beatrice; nieces and nephew, Holly Rhodes and husband Jerry of West Virginia, Shawn Frahm of Kearney, NE, and Robin Crouse and husband Bill of Beatrice; several great nieces and nephews: several great-great nieces and nephews; friends, Andy and Rachel Kreikemeier and family of Beatrice. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylord and Beverly Wehmer

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Interment will follow in the Lewiston Cemetery. Visitation with family greeting friends will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
