Robert "Buck" Watts

Robert “Buck” Watts, 80 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. He was born on October 6, 1936 in Pawnee City to Ord and Evelyn (Kussman) Watts. Buck married Pamela Runge in Papillion. He spent the majority of his life building motors and transmissions, cutting iron and working on race cars. Buck loved dirt track racing, owning several cars during his life. While he loved racing, he would never drive the cars but built and worked on them with several of his friends.

Buck is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela; 2 daughters, Kristy Pope and husband Scott, Jodi Carel and husband Tom; son, Jeff and significant other Jana Reed, all of Beatrice; 4 children from a previous marriage, Timothy, Robert, John, Alan; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Kate Cary.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Jon Palmquist officiating. A register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary.
