Richard Dean Cullen

Richard Dean Cullen, 81 of Holmesville, NE, went to live with the Lord he loved on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was born in Beatrice, NE, April 10, 1936, to Rolland & Elva (Reiff) Cullen.  He graduated from Holmesville High. Richard lived his whole life in Holmesville except for 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He served 2 ½ years in the Philippine Islands. He attended McPherson College in Kansas. He worked at Wilkes Baking Co. now Beatrice Bakery, Keyes Manufacturing and retired from Tote Systems. Richard bred and raised many Arabian Horses thru the years. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Holmesville. Richard served for years at the Wymore Food Pantry, was a long time member of the Beatrice Lions Club serving as president for many years.

Richard leaves to mourn: sisters, Mary Jane (Ken) Greenwood, Beatrice, Carol (Kerm) Copeland, Burlington, IA, and Linda (Jim) Ehlers of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Mike Brooks of Norco, CA; many nephews, nieces and cousins; special friends Bryan and Theresa Sisler; Jim Bernard and his little dog Penny.

He was preceded in death by, parents, sister, Dorothy Brooks.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Church of the Brethren near Holmesville with John Snyder officiating. No visitation the body has been cremated but a guestbook is available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com. A memorial is established in lieu of flowers to the Wymore Food Pantry or the Brethren Cemetery.  Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
