Phyllis June (Corey) Rogers

Phyllis J. (Corey) Rogers, 81 of Beatrice, NE completed her remarkable journey on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Beatrice Health and Rehab Center surrounded by her family. She was born January 26, 1937 in Blue Springs, NE to Clifford “Jack” and Opal Violet Corey. She was a woman of charity, faithful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a friend to many. Phyllis graduated from Beatrice High School in 1955. She married Dean Milke on June 26, 1955. They later divorced and she married Mark Rogers on January 11, 1979. Phyllis attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She worked at the Lutheran Hospital and a volunteer in social service work for the Lincoln Public School. She taught Sunday school and girl scouts. Phyllis served on the Board of Directors of Lincoln Action Program and played violin with the Lincoln City Orchestra.

Survivors include her husband, Mark; children, Toni Baete of Beatrice, Terrilynne Brady of Lincoln, NE, Leslie Young and husband James of Beatrice, David Ullman and wife Judy of Beatrice, Lisa Gordy and husband John of Odessa, TX, Kathleen Shipman and husband John of Beatrice and Christopher Milke and wife Tammy of Beatrice; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Hendrickson and husband Myron of Meridian, ID, Joan Orth and husband Roland “Gene” of  Ava, MO, Elizabeth Gutierrez of Lincoln, and Katheryn Corter and husband Melvin of Lincoln; brothers, Jack Corey and wife Roberta of Beatrice, Jerald Corey and wife Roseann of Beatrice, and Michael Corey and wife Pam of Beatrice; cousins; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel in Beatrice with Jon Palmquist officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Blue Springs, NE. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the mortuary.
