Monetta A. (Kauffeld) Meyer

Monetta A. Meyer, 86, Beatrice, NE died Friday, June 29, 2018 at Beatrice Health and Rehab. She was born August 24, 1931 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Monetta married Ernest Meyer in 1952 in Hanover, KS.  She worked 20 years as a nurse aid for the Lutheran Hospital in Beatrice. Monetta was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, arts and crafts, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, David Meyer and wife Sheila of Beatrice, Doug Meyer of Bennet, NE, Brenda Niday of Las Vegas, NV and Jeanette Meyer of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Omar Kauffeld and wife Ione of Garfield, AR; brothers-in-law, Norbert Meyer and wife Tena of Beatrice, Elmer Blanken of Leavenworth, KS; sister-in-law, Floice Meyer of Beatrice; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Rev. Theodore and Adeline (Wenzel) Kauffeld; stepmother, Doris (Schendel) Kauffeld; husband, Ernest Meyer; daughter, Barbara Jean Meyer; grandson, Keaton Niday; great-grandson, Kameron Niday; daughter-in-law, Patricia Meyer; sister, Aurelia Mueller and husband Loren; parents-in-law, Herman and Mathilda (Grefe) Meyer; brother-in-law, Victor Meyer; sisters-in-law, Velma Blanken, Elnora Baumann, Ernetta Kauffeld, Erna Licht and husband Gerhard; nephews, Kevin Kauffeld and Randy Blanken.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Timothy Brisbois officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the church basement. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. The body will also lie in state one hour preceding services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church with the mortuary in charge.
