Maxine L. (Cooper) Sears

Maxine L. (Cooper) Sears, 98, of Wayne, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017. She was born on April 19, 1918 in Wymore to Orin and Alberta (Johnson) Cooper. Maxine graduated from Wymore High School in 1938 and worked for many years at the Lutheran Hospital and Beatrice State Developmental Center.

Maxine is survived by 2 daughters, Madeline Schmoldt and husband Lee of Beatrice, Debra Sorensen and husband Jim of Lincoln; 2 sons, Richard Showen and significant other Pam Sittner of Dixon, Michael Showen of Austin, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Amanda Showen, Brandon Gartner; and great grandchild, Wesley Baete, Jr.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2017 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice with Pastor Jack Magness officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Beatrice Community Food Pantry in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
