Martin "Leland" L. Bleck

Martin “Leland” L. Bleck, 84 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on June 15, 1933 near Burwell to John and Millie (Godfrey) Bleck. Leland attended Ansley Public Schools through 8th grade when he took over the family farm because his father was ill. He and his mother later moved to Kearney where they owned and operated many rental properties. Leland married Loraine Carpenter on June 26, 1996 in Kearney and moved to Beatrice soon after. He was a member of RLDS in North Platte and Church of the Brethren near Holmesville. Leland enjoyed socializing at the senior center, camping in Branson, Missouri and his dog “Peaches”.

Leland is survived by his caretaker, Wendy Rhine and husband Jerry and their daughter Jordan of Beatrice; several cousins including Russell Godfrey and wife Kathy of Independence, Missouri, Wayne Godfrey of North Platte; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Loraine on March 21, 2011; and sister, Bernice Templin.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 29, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with John Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in the Kearney Cemetery in Kearney. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested the family’s choice in care of the mortuary.
