Marion E. Frantz

Marion E. Frantz, 92 years of age, of Lincoln, formerly of Beatrice passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 in Lincoln. He was born on January 23, 1926 near Holmesville to Alfred and Kathryn (Burkholder) Frantz. Marion graduated from Beatrice High School in 1943 and served in the Merchant Marines from 1943 to 1945. He married Joyce Birkin on August 24, 1948 in Haxtun, Colorado. Marion earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. His father started Frantz Farm Equipment in 1939 and Marion continued as owner and operator until 1992. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, attending church, and especially his grandchildren.

Marion is survived by his wife Joyce; son, Gary Frantz of Beatrice; daughter, Vicki Jackson and husband Dan of Lincoln; 4 grandchildren, Scott Vrtiska and wife Renee, Mike Vrtiska and wife Jamie, Eric Vrtiska and wife Stacey, Brian Vrtiska and wife Micaela; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Lucile Coyle, Wilma Sutton; and a brother, Elmer Frantz.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Mary Beth Tuttle officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery near Holmesville. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Church of the Brethren in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
