Linda L. (Wiechmann) McConnell

Linda L. (Wiechmann) McConnell, 53 years of age, of Beatrice passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born on July 17, 1964 in Beatrice to Ronald and Donna Beth (Timmerman) Wiechmann. Linda graduated from Beatrice High School in 1982 and started working for the Beatrice State Developmental Center where she held several positions, most recently in activities. She married Neil McConnell on July 6, 1985 at Coryell Park near Johnson. Linda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice where she served as an elder. She was an avid gamer, enjoying anything from game shows on TV to puzzles on paper. Linda also enjoyed volunteer work, family, friends, reading and being a guardian for several people. Nobody was a stranger to Linda and she loved people in general. She will be remembered as an amazing grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly.

Linda is survived by her husband, Neil; son, Matt McConnell and wife Ashley of Pickrell; daughter, Amanda Fossler and husband Chris of Filley; 2 grandchildren, Linley McConnell and Case Fossler; 2 sisters, Laura Smith and husband Kevin of St. Joseph, Missouri, Lisa Behrens and husband Russ of Beatrice; 4 brothers-in-law, Norm McConnell and wife Cheri, Cliff McConnell, both of Beatrice; Bill Jaeger of Ellis, Bob Jaeger and wife Deb of Beatrice; 2 sisters-in-law, Michelle Papin and husband Jamie, Renee Davidson and husband Jeff, both of Theresa, New York; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, May 4, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Beatrice with Rev. Dr. John Duling officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Liberty. The body will lie in state from noon to 6 PM with family greeting friends from 5 to 6 PM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice and not at the church on Friday. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
