Janet Rae (Wilson) Houseman

Janet Rae (Wilson) Houseman, 83 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. She was born in Beatrice on September 18, 1936 to Raymond and Helen (Jones) Wilson. Jan married Wayne Houseman on January 31, 1953 at the First Christian Church in Beatrice. She and her husband owned and operated Houseman’s One Hour Cleaners from 1972 to 1979 and Jan’s Cleaners from 1977 to 2003. Jan was a member of the First Christian Church and a past member of the American Legion and Eagles Auxiliaries. She enjoyed going to casinos, burger night at the Eagles Club, crocheting, dancing, bowling and especially time with her family.

Jan is survived by her husband, Wayne; sons, Robert and wife Deb of Beatrice, John of Beatrice; daughter, Jan Werner and husband Lyle of Beatrice; grandchildren, Stephanie Meyerle and husband Mike, Chad Houseman, Kirk Houseman and wife Kimberly, Nichole White, Joshua Houseman and wife Crystal, Whitney Grabouski and husband Jordan, Tara Jo Hatfield, Ashley Farley and fiancé Cody Russell, Cody Grabouski; step-grandchildren, Jacob Werner and friend Shanda, Joshua Werner and wife Justice; 17 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; brothers, Darrell Wilson of Beatrice, Larry Wilson and wife Edie of Scottsbluff; special friends, CJ and Alejandra and their family; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and great grandson, Jagger Ace Grabouski; sister-in-law, Katie Wilson; and her service dog, Blossom.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
